One of my raver BFFs clued me in to Anouk Wipprecht a year or so ago. I kinda freaked out. Not only does her stuff look like old school raver clothes, but it also DOES STUFF. Like paint itself, create smoke clouds, and makes drinks. In my opinion, in most of Wipprechts pieces she is successful at creating something unique, conceptual, and technologically challenging while maintaining a distinct look and aesthetic quality. No small feat. […]
Today’s DIY courtesy of P.S. I made this. I’ve gotten a lot of project ideas from them over the years. Def great for beginner DIYers. This vest was inspired by a Rick Owens vest (I assume the one on the model in the picture). Gareth Pugh used to work for Rick Owens and Owens later became his mentor/sponsor. You can see similar structures in GPs Spring/Summer 2012 collection. You can Please visit the blog for […]
I suspect that SWEAR Jettys may be the originators of the whole “fluffy” trend (ie faux fur leggings/boots/bootcovers). While Elsa Schiaparelli predated them by about 60 years with her monkey fur boots. But I doubt those ever made it to a rave. I’d like to know when the Jettys were first produced and if anything similar was made before. See also my SWEAR Alternative company profile [Ed.] Alexander Wang has a contemporary version. Yeah so funny thing about these shoes. I was wandering around Queen St. in Toronto on boxing day, intending on buying some new headphones but of course got distracted by clothes. The store Original turns out has a bunch of SWEAR backstock for $40-50. Turns out these shoes have a penis and semen on the bottom of the sole. I shit you not, you can see the urethra and the glans at the toe of […]
Someone, needs to buy these. Just be thankful they’re not my size. Soul Fusion Sneakers with chamber to insert a glow stick. Now where’s my drill and a pair of Swears…..
Welcome to my third attempt at blogging! Obviously the first two went absolutely nowhere. But really, i’m shocked and appalled I didn’t think of this concept earlier. Those that have known me for a while, know that I fucking love raver clothes. Let’s just say I was stylistically challenged before I was introduced to the joys of Geek Boutique and FDCO. With the crash of the late 90s rave wave, most clothing companies producing garments […]
