Today’s DIY courtesy of P.S. I made this. I’ve gotten a lot of project ideas from them over the years. Def great for beginner DIYers. This vest was inspired by a Rick Owens vest (I assume the one on the model in the picture). Gareth Pugh used to work for Rick Owens and Owens later became his mentor/sponsor. You can see similar structures in GPs Spring/Summer 2012 collection. You can Please visit the blog for […]
Woohoo! Thanks to SWEAR maven Gerrixx for uploading scans of a 2001 SWEAR Alternative catalogue. It’s helped sort out my mass of pictures. I have a lot of updating to do. Slowly adding profiles to the Archive page which will have company profiles and every picture I can get my hand on, hopefully organized by style. There is also a SWEAR facebook group if you are interested. The SWEAR Kiss platforms are legendary. Less ravey, worn […]
Yeah, I can be a little behind the times with certain fashion trends. In particular, leggings, skinny jeans, and any pant with a cuff smaller than my thigh. Just too long-johnny for this Canadian. Tight pants also makes this shortie look wider than long. However, my not-so-closet nerdom was tweeked with Black Milks sci-fi leggings. I feel the quality of their graphic design has slightly waned over the past year since they totally blew up. […]
[Ed. note – i’m sick so not much commentary this week. Sorry ] “Sometime during the genesis of this collection, the Wizard of Oz bumped into Predator” (style.com) Holy shit Style.com, I can’t think of a more appropriate stylistic description. Well played. [Another ed. note. Not so well played style.com, you have the worst photos of this collection online. You might as well have your editor just write prose than use this photographer.] […]
Extra-special thanks to Twisted Lamb for the original blog post. Highly recommend checking out their site if you are into feathers and leather/Tiffa Nova/Skingraft/ nouveau tribal/west coast neo-hippie/burner aesthetic. Actually it’s just recommended for the excellent photography and immaculate clothes. Have to say it’s been harder deciding what NOT to publish on Fridays. Really, most models in professional fashion shoots look like space aliens on their day off. For now, I’m going to try and […]
